But at the 2013 MTV VMAs, Miley Cyrus stole Gaga's outrageous performance crown.

The 20-year-old pop star stepped out onto the stage a ball of energy, wearing a fuzzy gray leotard, as her hit single, "We Can't Stop," played. An animated and uninhibited performer, Cyrus' dance moves were a clear departure from her "Hannah Montana" days. (Meaning, they involved a crotch grab or two.)

When she reached the end of her song, the singer stripped down to a flesh-toned latex bra and matching underwear and began to perform "Blurred Lines" alongside Robin Thicke.

Google announced Tuesday that its mobile maps will now include real-time updates about accidents, construction and other potential sources of traffic snarls. The information will come from the 50 million users of Waze, the social-mapping app that Google bought in June for $1.1 billion.

The C-String – A Wonder of Modern Design or Just a Bad Idea?

In the UK, women’s underwear is referred to as ‘Knickers’ whilst in the US they are called ‘Panties’. Now we know how “Sex and the City’s” Carrie Bradshaw could afford a closet full of designer shoes as a freelance writer: A new study finds that sexually active people make more money.

And if you do it more than four times a week, you earn even more, the study shows.

“There is a monotonic relationship between the frequency of sexual activity and wage returns,” Nick Drydakis, a senior economics lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University in England wrote in a paper for the International Journal of Manpower.

When people are having sex regularly, they’re happier, stronger, eat better and exercise more, researchers have found. Drydakis called sexual activity a “barometer” for several characteristics an employer would want in a worker or traits that could make someone a better worker.

“Being sexually active is a proxy for good health, and that itself is correlated with having higher energy for everything, including work,” Andrew Oswald, economics professor at Britain's Warwick University, said via email.

“Physical and mental health, as well as personality characteristics, are important factors that affect wages. The patterns found in this study strengthen this reasoning,” Drydakis wrote.

The “Sex and the City” bed-hopping cliché notwithstanding, marriage seems to have a lot to do with it. “Married people, particularly men, earn higher wages than the non-married,” Oswald said. “One possible explanation is that such people are sociable, stable people.”

Conversely, a sexless marriage appears to be detrimental to a person’s earning power. “Married men having no sex receive lower wages by 1.3 percent,” Drydakis wrote, calling the amount “statistically significant.”

Drydakis did have one caveat, which we’ll call the gold-digger variable: In some cases, a better job or higher income could be the reason someone starts having more sex, rather than the other way around.

“Higher wages may increase the value and attractiveness of a person on the dating market; higher wages may also increase purchase of gifts that are thanked for via sex,” the paper pointed out.

However, a 2004 paper published in the Scandinavian Journal of Economics written by Oswald and Dartmouth College professor David Blanchflower found, “Higher income does not buy more sex or more sexual partners.”

Drydakis noted sex is a relatively fundamental need based on psychologist Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, along with food and shelter.

“If basic needs are not satisfied, human beings cannot function. People need to love and be loved,” he wrote. “In the absence of these elements, many people become susceptible to loneliness, social anxiety, and depression that could affect their working life.”

According to Warwick University's Oswald, “Happiness does raise productivity in humans,” so it’s possible that people who are having sex are more productive at work because they’re in a better mood — albeit maybe a bit sleep-deprived. Drydakis found that people having sex more than four times a week see the biggest wage benefit.

Actor Lee Thompson Young Found Dead From Suicide

Actor Lee Thompson Young was found dead on Monday (August 19) from what officials believe to be a suicide.

According to , the 29-year-old's body was discovered with a gunshot wound that appears to be self-

His camp have since released a statement confirming that his death is a suicide.

"It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning ... Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed," Lee's publicist told TMZ.

Lee played the main character on Disney's "The Famous Jett Jackson", and currently appears in the TNT show "Rizzoli & Isles".

He didn't show up to the set Monday morning, so staffers called the landlord of the his Los Angeles home to check up on him. When the landlord opened the door, Young's body was discovered.

Janet Tamaro, the executive producer of "Rizzoli & Isles," tells TMZ that "Everyone at [the show] is devastated by the news of the passing of Lee Thompson Young."

Former Disney star Lee Thompson Young has died aged 29 after suicide. 

There was no official cause of death, but Young's manager confirmed Monday that the Famous Jett Jackson actor 'tragically took his own life.' 

'Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed,' said Paul Baruch. 'We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends as this very difficult time.'

Young's body was found at his North Hollywood home by police Monday morning after he failed to show up for work on TNT's crime drama Rizzoli & Isles, police Officer Sally Madera said. The Los Angeles Fire Department was summoned and pronounced him dead at the scene, she said.

LAPD robbery-homicide detectives and the Los Angeles County coroner office were investigating because it is a high-profile death, she said. Madera had no details about the cause of death.

According to TMZ, the actor died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Young's death remains a mystery because he did not leave a suicide note, TMZ reported, and although the actor did have a diary none of the writings explain the reasoning behind him taking his own life.

In addition, Young was last seen on Saturday and law enforcement officials believe that the star may have committed suicide that same day, the website also reported.

Young's death is the second high profile suicide in a week following Bachelor star Gia Allemand's hanging last Monday and subsequent death Wednesday, also at the age of 29. 

Young made a name for himself as the title character in Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson, which ran from 1998 to 2001. 

He then went on to play running back Chris Comer in the 2004 film Friday Night Lights, before landing the lead role on Rizzoli & Isles for the past three seasons as Boston police detective Barry Frost.

Earlier Monday, TNT announced it was renewing the series that stars Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander.

'We are beyond heartbroken at the loss of this sweet, gentle, good-hearted, intelligent man. Lee will be cherished and remembered by all who knew and loved him, both on- and offscreen, for his positive energy, infectious smile and soulful grace,' TNT, studio Warner Bros. and series producer Janet Tamaro said in a joint statement.

They sent condolences to his mother and other family members.

According to a biography from TNT, Young was inspired to pursue acting when, at age, 10, he played Martin Luther King Jr. in a play in Young's hometown of Columbia, South Carolina. 

Young followed his stint at Disney it with roles in TV series, including The Guardian, Scrubs and Smallville and in the films Akeelah and the Bee and The Hills Have Eyes II. Young joined Rizzoli & Isles when it debuted in 2010.

Young said in 2011 that he valued his start as a child star.

'It's always a really great feeling when I talk to people who watched Jett Jackson, because we were the same age,' he told EW.com. 'We were all kids. I was 13 when I started working on that show and that was part of my childhood. And it's kind of like we have that in common.

'It means a lot to me when people enjoyed it and when it was a part of their childhood,' he added. 

'It's cool when you see people revert back for a quick second to middle school, and they're like, "Oh, man! I remember..." It's really great to me that our work is still with people after 10 years.'

Young, a graduate of University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, was an avid photographer, traveler and student of martial arts, according to his biography.

New Zealand Earthquakes 2013: Temblors Damage Homes And Destroy Bridge

WELLINGTON, New Zealand -- Strong earthquakes shook central New Zealand on Friday, damaging homes, destroying a bridge and sending office workers scrambling for cover in the capital. No serious injuries have been reported.

A magnitude-6.5 temblor struck just after 2:30 p.m. near the small South Island town of Seddon, and at least six aftershocks were 5.0 magnitude or stronger.

Several homes near the epicenter were severely damaged, with chimneys collapsing and roofs caving in, said police spokeswoman Barbara Dunn. She said a bridge was severely damaged on the main highway near Seddon, and that rocks and debris had fallen onto the road. Police closed a section of the highway.

Some buildings in Wellington, the capital, were evacuated, and items were knocked off shelves in places.

Police said a number of people were freed from Wellington elevators that stopped working. The initial temblor also forced the nation's stock exchange to close for more than an hour.

Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown said there was no major damage to the city's infrastructure or office buildings. She said highways had become clogged as people left the city.

"We think this is business as usual," she said, "but it is going to take a little while for people to get home tonight."

The U.S. Geological Survey said the epicenter of the initial temblor was 94 kilometers (58 miles) west of Wellington at a depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles).

A quake of similar strength in the same area three weeks ago broke water mains, smashed windows and downed power lines.

Caroline Little, a seismologist with New Zealand quake monitoring agency GeoNet, said the series of quakes since July had followed an unusual pattern.

"Normally you get a big quake and then the aftershocks get smaller in magnitude," she said.

Little said the July quake was on a fault line near Seddon that had not previously been mapped. She said it was too early to determine if Friday's quakes were on that same fault.

A different fault line runs through Wellington, and many in the city fear a major disaster if it were to become active.

New Zealand is part of the so-called Pacific "Ring of Fire" that has regular seismic activity. A severe earthquake in the city of Christchurch in 2011 killed 185 people and destroyed much of the city's downtown.

Local authorities issued no tsunami warnings after Friday's quakes.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, who welcomed their first child, North West, into the world five weeks early in June, has reportedly turned down another magazine offer of $3 million for the first image of their baby girl.

A source previously said: "[The camera's have been] a constant presence in Kris' house since Kim and Kanye brought North home from the hospital. Kanye has been angry about the intrusion, but Kim is contractually obligated to film."

The couple are also reportedly using their time away from the spotlight to plan their lavish wedding.

Lina Medina: The 5-year-old Mother

Lina Medina was born on September 27, 1933, in the village of Ticrapo, Peru. A little over five years later, Lina was to become a world-famous celebrity. Lina Medina is the youngest documented mother in human history, giving birth at the age of five. 

Lina was born with a rare condition called "precocious puberty." Precocious puberty is basically the early onset of sexual development. Most girls begin experiencing puberty around the age of ten (boys usually start a little later, around the ages of 11 or 12). Lina had experienced her first menstrual cycle at the age of eight months, although erroneous contemporary reports stated that the event occurred at the age of two and a half or three. She had fully developed breasts by the age of four.  

At five, she experienced a widening of her pelvis and had advanced bone maturation. It was at the age of five that Lina's midsection started growing massively. Her mother, Victoria, thought that her daughter was possessed by evil spirits. When she brought Lina to a hospital to be examined, the initial diagnosis was a possible tumor. 

It was soon discovered, to the great shock and surprise of all, that she was actually eight months pregnant. When doctors did a full examination of Lina, they found that, although she was only five years old, she had fully mature sexual organs. 

Dr. Geraldo Lozada became Lina's attending doctor, fully taking over the case. Dr. Lozada took Lina to a more advanced hospital in Lima to confirm the pregnancy diagnosis. The diagnosis was confirmed. 

On May 14, 1939, a month and a half after the diagnosis, Lina gave birth to a healthy, 6-pound son. Because of the small size of the mother's pelvis, the baby was delivered by caesarean section. Thus, at the age of five years, seven months, and 17 days, Lina Medina became the youngest human female on record to give birth to a child. By an odd coincidence, the birth occurred on Mothers Day in 1939.

The boy was named Geraldo in honor of Lina's doctor. Geraldo was to lead a healthy life until he developed a bone marrow disease, which led to his death at age 40 in 1979. Geraldo grew up believing that Lina was his sister. Finally, at the age of ten, the boy was told his mother's true identity.        

Lina has never revealed the father of her child or the circumstances of the conception. After Lina's condition was discovered, her father was arrested and jailed on suspicion of rape and incest. He was later released due to lack of evidence. 

Dr. Edmundo Escomel, a preeminent physician who thoroughly researched Lina's case, has suggested that Lina herself may not know what happened. Obviously, Lina's age (four at the time of conception) would be a contributing factor to her lack of memory. Although nothing of the child's conception is known, it is certain that the event must have been a great shock to young Lina and would surely have been, at least to some extent, traumatic. Dr. Escomel has also revealed that when Lina was originally interviewed about her condition, "she was unable to give precise responses."

Some have pointed out that the fact that there were frequent festivities celebrated by Indians in Andean villages like the one where Lina was born. These often ended up in orgies in which rape was not uncommon. 

In her young adulthood, Lina worked as a secretary at Dr. Lozada's Lima clinic. The doctor had provided for Lina's education, and also helped put her son through school. 

Lina later married Raul Jurado and bore a second child in 1972. As of 2002, the couple were living in a poor district of Lima known as "Chicago Chico" (Little Chicago). Lina has refused any and all public interviews about her unique story through the years and has continued her silence regarding the matter to this day.

Samsung Hennessy is a two-faced Android flip phone

Don't flip out, but the flip phone is back: Samsung has officially unveiled the Samsung SCH-W789 Hennessy, an Android-powered flip phone sporting not one but two touchscreens.

The first 3.3-inch, 320x480-pixel screen is on the outside, and when you flip it open there's a second identical display and traditional numeric keypad.

True, in other parts of the world the flip phone never really went away. But since the iPhonecame along, in these parts the slab-like touchscreen phone has become so dominant that anything else looks decidedly old-school.

There's nothing old-school about the Hennessy's specs, however. It boasts a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software.
